MONTVALE — Having passed through years of litigation, K. Hovnanian North Jersey Acquisitions LLC says its new luxury town-home community is slated to open in mid-summer.
The Reserve at Montvale, at 32 Upper Saddle River Road, will feature 80 town homes for sale. The Edison-based developer originally proposed 100 units, a number reduced after a two-year legal struggle with the borough.
Planning Board Chairman John DePinto said the original scope of the project was too large for the area, which is near the Garden State Parkway. The litigation was settled in October 2013, when K. Hovnanian agreed to build 20 traditional and 60 stacked units.
“Our decision to select Montvale as the location of our newest town-home community is based on the strong history and experience we have in the borough of Montvale,” said Jay McDermott, the Northern New Jersey Area President for K. Hovnanian Homes.
McDermott said that hard-hat tours of the town homes will begin in mid-July.
